In less than two decades, the Sino-Star Group has emerged as the leading overseas manpower services organization in Singapore. Listed below are some of the key milestones in the rapid evolution of the group.

1993

  • August: Sino Star Associates Pte Ltd (SSA) was established with a mandate to provide internship services to a diverse range of industries.


1997

  • August:  2000 Recruitment Pte Ltd was established to tap into alternative sources of manpower, mainly from neighbouring countries and thus help local businesses overcome the prevalent economic challenges.
  • 2000 Recruitment obtained license to recruit foreign workers. The Group devised a new strategy and restructured operations appropriately for maximum efficiency and effectiveness. As part of this strategy,
    • SSA was aligned to focus on Exchange Program of trainees/ interns for the Hotels & Restaurants/ Hospitality Management (HRM), and retail/ airport sectors.  
    • 2000 Recruitment was geared for recruitment of work permit (WP) holders (professionally, skilled manpower), mainly for the manufacturing sector. 2000 Recruitment was to also provide a supporting role for the recruitment of WP holders for the HRM sector.
  • Launched regional offices in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) as the Group expanded its network of business associates across the country.
  • Following the phenomenally successful launch of recruitment of workers from the PRC, 2000 Recruitment made the decision to expand to other key geographical markets such as Philippines and India.
  • November: Established Sino Star Management Pte Ltd (SSM) to provide local contract workers for the manufacturing sector. Subsequently, the company was structured to provide specialized support for SSA and 2000 Recruitment in the areas of accommodation (dormitories for workers & trainees) and transport. The new company was formed to enable the Group to be a one-stop solution for several leading SMEs and MNCs that had chosen 2000 Recruitment as their preferred recruitment agency.   


1999

  • SSM streamlines focus to support SSA and 2000 Recruitment for the maintenance of workers during their tenure of service with their employers; mainly provides counseling service and management and maintenance of hostels for workers.


2003

  • Diversified into the Healthcare sector to provide recruitment of qualified nurses and other skilled professionals 
  • 2000 Recruitment becomes one of the most preferred agencies for recruitment of foreign nurses to several well-established government hospitals that have set the highest standards for the skills, qualifications and experience expected of their nursing staff.


2004

  • Sino-Star Group of Companies achieves ISO 9001:2000 certification; 2000 Recruitment has also achieved the same for “Recruitment and Placement Services”. The certification demonstrates the Group’s commitment to deliver high-quality services by implementing stringent quality control and quality assurance processes.


2005

  • Sino-Star Group expands healthcare recruitment geographically to commence recruitment of Indian nationals in addition to Philippine nationals. Pleased with the results, the hospitals engage us to recruit several more batches.   


2007

  • Formed another support services company, Sino-Star Enterprise Pte Ltd (SSE) to cater to the continuous growth in workload of and demand for the services of Sino-Star Management in the area of hostel sourcing and maintenance.


2008

  • Group expands healthcare recruitment to China, with plans to do more recruitment exercises in the country in 2008 and beyond.
